Taylor Swift’s “1989” Photo Shoot Apartment

The current seller turned two apartments on the third and fourth floor into one unit connected by a spiral staircase. Parts of Taylor’s 1989 album artwork shoot took place in what was originally the lower unit (301), which at the time belonged to film director Tannaz Hazemi. The shoot by Sarah Barlow and Stephen Schofield produced the album cover and the Polaroid photos that were included in 1989 CDs — each copy included one of five sets of 13 Polaroids, for a total of 65 total photos.

Many of the photos were taken in the apartment, while others were taken around the city. Barlow and Schofield said they took over 400 Polaroids for the shoot, and considering Swift’s forthcoming 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is rumored to have some photos “from the vault,” more shots from this apartment might soon come to light.

Some of the elements that you can see in the original Polaroids are still intact in the unit, such as the huge, dark-trimmed windows. In one picture, Swift sits in front of a door that’s scrawled with the lyrics, “If you leave me, I’m coming with you” from the Every Time I Die song “Buffalo 666.” The lyrics are still scrawled on the door now, according to listing agent Shane Boyle.
