The median asking price for a home in Brooklyn Heights was $2.3 million this September, according to the\u00a0StreetEasy Data Dashboard. That puts our Deal of the Week\u2019s price at less than a fifth of the median asking price for the neighborhood!<\/p>\n
Buyers who make the 20% minimum down payment of $85,000 can expect to see monthly payments of $3,571. This includes a mortgage payment of $2,469 and a maintenance fee of $1,102. It\u2019s also far below the median asking rent in the neighborhood, which was $4,500 this September.<\/p>\n
Why You\u2019ll Love It\u2026<\/h2>\n
Although this apartment is a studio, it has several separate areas, including a foyer with a closet and a mostly walled-off kitchen with a dishwasher and window. There\u2019s even a dressing area on the opposite end of the living space, complete with two closets and an entrance to the windowed bathroom. All windows in the unit face south, so you\u2019re guaranteed great light throughout the day.<\/p>\n
The living area is also divided into two parts by two steps, creating a \u201csunken\u201d space. The raised area has bar seating connected to the kitchen, plus room for a dining set or desk, while the sunken area can easily fit a bed and living furniture. You\u2019ll also find a gorgeous oversized window with stained glass detailing in this area.<\/p>\n
Of course, there\u2019s more to consider than just what\u2019s inside the apartment. It\u2019s found in a pet-friendly elevator building with a part-time doorman, bike room, laundry facilities, and live-in super. Pied-\u00e0-terres are also permitted with board approval.<\/p>\n
The 2, 3, A, C, R, 4, and 5 trains are all easily accessible from the building. If you prefer to travel by ferry, you can do so at the nearby Fulton Ferry Landing, also known as the DUMBO stop. However, you won\u2019t have to leave the immediate area to see and do great things. The Brooklyn Heights Promenade and Brooklyn Bridge Park are just steps away, and there are plenty of eateries and boutiques on the surrounding streets.<\/p>\n
\u2026And Why You Might Not<\/h2>\n
The Brooklyn-Queens Expressway right behind the building might add some noise. And while the kitchen might be separate from the living area, it doesn\u2019t have a ton of counter space. Still, if you\u2019re looking for a studio in the coveted Brooklyn Heights neighborhood, this price is surely hard to beat!<\/p>\n
